The Energy Healer in You: We Can All Work With Energy
The best energy healer is always you because you’re really the only one who can heal yourself. Other people help you in a variety of ways, but it is up to you to do the often-difficult work of bringing about your own healing.
Other energy healers will work on you during sessions and may make suggestions for you to carry into your daily life, but it’s up to you to try those suggestions, determine what’s working and what’s not, and decide what needs to happen next. You’re also the one who has to be willing to feel uncomfortable feelings and take the necessary actions to heal the wounds that will be brought to light throughout the healing process.
To become your own energy healer, all you have to do is decide to begin to take responsibility for your energy. You may want to make a list of behaviours, situations, and relationships that leave you feeling drained or stressed. Naturally, you’re not going to change these things immediately. But just becoming aware of their impact on your energy system will lead to subtle shifts.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, list the behaviours, situations, and relationships that give you an energy boost. If you can’t think of any, consider things that might give you an energy boost. Maybe these are things you think are impossible for you to ever do or have but that you secretly dream about. It doesn’t matter. Make your list to bring them into your awareness.
If you continue on your healing journey, you will be surprised a year or two down the road when you look again at these lists. You’ll find that much, if not all, of the stuff that was draining your energy is no longer in your life and much, if not all, of the stuff that charges you up will have replaced it. Yay you!
How to Become an Energy Healer
If you want to join the ranks of the world’s energy healers, go for it! We are all capable of working with energy and helping others on their healing journey. In fact, people who do energy healing are doing it because they have been through it themselves and wanted to see others reap the benefits.
For me, it just happened naturally. I had zero intention of becoming an energy healer. (I prefer the term healing facilitator because, once again, you are your own energy healer.) But as I healed, my interest in my former career waned. Writing for businesses no longer energized me, but helping women on their healing journeys fired me up big time.
So the first step in becoming an energy healer is to be your own energy healer and do the work required to shed all that is not you so you can be your authentic self. When you reach a certain point, you will know that it is time to become an energy healer. Then it’s just a matter of choosing the energy healing modality or modalities you want to practice.
You’ll likely choose what’s worked for you. You’ll also have brought your hidden gifts to light, which will affect what you do as a healer. For example, if you discover you are extremely psychic, you’ll use that skill in your energy healing practice.
The bottom line is that if you want to become an energy healer, you can. Explore what’s out there, consider what’s worked for you and your unique gifts, and have fun. When you discover the energy healing modalities that excite and energize you, you’re on the right track.
